- The Solas: We believe that the Five Solas of the Reformation are crucial principles for a church to thrive: Christ Alone, Grace Alone, Faith Alone, Scripture Alone, for God’s Glory Alone. (John 14:6, 6:65, Eph. 2:8, 2 Tim. 3:16, Phil. 2:9-11)
- Expository preaching: We believe that the congregation is best served by sermons that begin with a biblical text, rather than the preacher’s ideas.
- Biblical Literacy: A congregation saturated in the word of God and taught to correctly handle it is one that is set up to thrive as disciples who know and love God.
- Theologically-driven musical worship: Because a church is heavily shaped, theologically speaking, by the songs they sing, the songs used in musical worship will be not only congruent with biblical truth but also explicit in their theology, so as to engage the mind as well as the heart of the worshipers.
- No disclaimers, no apologies: This means that the worship service content and experience is planned and carried out with compassion and excellence. When someone from Trinity Church invites a friend to a worship service, we don’t want them to have to offer a disclaimer on the way there or an apology on the way home.
- Congregational Prayer: We believe that a church that makes time for prayer together, in settings such as the worship service and the prayer meeting, will be more likely to flourish in their walk with Christ and in their effect on the community.
- Elder-led congregational governance: Trinity will place emphasis on the responsibility and privilege of church membership. It will be a self-governed congregation led by qualified elders (including the pastor.)
- Discipleship-focused paradigm: Trinity will not be focused on programs but on making disciples.
- Generously sowing seeds of evangelism: Like the sower in Matthew 13, fruitfulness in evangelism means freely and actively sharing the gospel with as many people as possible.
- Leadership development: Trinity leadership will actively seek potential leaders and provide them with biblical, strategic training.
- Growth through multiplication: we want to be a part of a movement of Kingdom-minded churches that want to make disciples as effectively as possible. We believe this necessitates vision casting, strategy, and giving of time and resources to planting and revitalizing churches.
